i was in the middle of backing up before i flashed v2 when i saw 2.5 was up.
Cool - hopefully battery life improves since it appears the kernel was reverted fully to stock in 2.5. I do NOT want to use someone else's rom, as this one is just plain sick and the fastest of any of the four I've tried. Here's to hoping battery life improves so I can stick around.

If that's the case...well, that sucks. LOL Google is touting this version of android as having better battery life, so I don't get it...

Can someone else experiment with battery life? Surf the web for five minutes on a heavy flash website (such as AVSforum), then pay attention to how much the battery has drained. Mine drops like a rock... It just can't be this bad, can it?
I even had terrible idle lossage as well.

I gave up and went trinity, haven't looked back since.

i simply won't run anything but trinity. currently have the 1689/384 trinity running with ~11 hours on battery, 1.5 hours screen time, battery at 65%.

You're using a ROM that's been reverse engineered from a nandroid backup made on a GSM phone, then tweaked, poked, prodded, and altered to even boot on a CDMA phone using God only knows what sort of coding sourcery these talented devs can come up with. So yeah, let's complain about battery life. Be glad you can boot.

I am ignoring, encouraging devs to ignore, and encouraging users to ignore all battery life complaints until after AOSP has been pushed. If it still sucks after native code with properly revisioned associated proprietaries have gone live, yeah, then it's time to complain. Not before. Period. End of discussion.

My intent was to see if the stock kernel was the cause of poor battery life, which it appears to be. No need to be rude.

I'll try the trinity kernel since some of you seem to like it so much. Thanks for the info dmmarck and kisypher.

P.S. I wasn't complaining, but rather stating a fact. It would seem battery life sucks with the stock kernel, something we're all slowly learning. I didn't blame any of the devs, you or anyone else. In fact, I told Razor he's the man. Period. End of discussion.

I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just trying to state my position on discussions of battery life. Tone of voice and posture aren't communicated well via this medium

i should also add that i am packing a 3800mah battery. even so, you should be able to run trinity at 1036mhz and get the same performance as most other kernels do at 1200mhz.+ trinity also runs cooler.

PS...it wouldn't hurt to get the trinity app from play store to have greater control over the kernel, it's worth the $3.69

Just flashed 2.5 and I'm loving this, no issues at all. I've been using other Jelly Bean ROMs and hated how they progressively added more and more customizations. I'm loving this stock Jelly Bean experience and hoping this ROM stay like this.

but yet here we all are flashing new versions of ROMs multiple times per week because devs are improving and fixing mistakes. development is just that, "development". whether it be kernels or ROMs there will always be something newer and/or better to flash tomorrow. /fact

The update/backup frequency required to continually keep up with kernel "devs" constantly releasing new kernels that are basically just fixing their own mistakes is not worth the minute performance boost or battery life increase that you get from them.
